I had been on a two year quest to find a laser that actually did interesting things. Amazon left my pockets empty after buying a few cheep pos's. So I came to Dragonlasers. I bought the 400mw laser. It was nice... but I was disappointed that it didn't really burn anything. So I hunted down Frank, who's a really nice guy. He put up with my irate customer attitude, and I'm really grateful for that. He let me send it back in and pay the extra monies for the better laser. Now I have a death ray. It doesn't melt crayons.. It scorches them to ash.

I was ready to get a blue laser and had two choices. There was the fancy one on the flashy, glitzy website from the company that took five months to deliver my order last time. Then there was Dragon Lasers with a no-frills solid performing product and straight-up website. I chose to take a chance with Dragon on the recommendation of a friend and I am so glad I did. I am very impressed with their products and most importantly their prompt service.
My Spartan 1W blue laser is definately the best constructed case and best performer in my collection, and I own many lasers of different power and wavelength specs. The sheer power and burning capability of the Spartan is amazing. Actually, it scares me with what it can do, so I always use protective eyewear when using it.
About Dragon's customer service team - I don't know since I NEVER had to call them. There was no need to since they didn't decieve me with bogus delivery dates or send me units that were defective right out of the box (like the other guys did). Dragon did exactly what they said they would - sell me a high quality product, reasonably priced, and deliver it to me on time. That is how it should be, that is what I call customer service.
I wish I had found out about Dragon Lasers sooner. It would have saved me a lot of trouble. Now they are the only ones that I will buy from. They have earned my trust by treating me right.

I had been looking for a laser that was reasonably priced and was at least 1watt. Had already purchased what when searching the internet comes back as the most powerful hand held laser you can legally buy. Needless to say it was not the most powerful laser and was not even close to the watt it was advertised as. In fact it was doing good to get to 730mw.
I started looking around the net again for another possible true 1watt blue laser and saw a few posts talking about Dragon Lasers Spartan. All the posts I could find about Dragon were very favorable and that both the laser and customer service was much better then that at Wicked Lasers. Based on that I ordered a Spartan.
I was impressed as I received messages letting me know when the order processed, shipped, and expected delivery date. It took 13 days to arrive here unlike the almost month to wait for the Wicked S3 Arctic.
It was well packaged and was a little smaller then had expected. I put in my batteries and tested the power on my LaserBee 2w LPM. I was totally shocked when it very quickly went to over 1300mw peak and a very consistent 1200mw.
I am more then satisfied with the Spartan and the customer service was second to none. I would recommend the Dragon Lasers Spartan to anyone looking for the most powerful reasonably priced hand held 445nm blue laser. If I had known about the Spartan before I bought the Wicked Lasers S3 Arctic, I do not believe I would have purchased the Arctic. The Spartan is a much superior product.

Actually I first found the other rather big laser company with their "wicked lasers". The strength of a 1W laser fascinated me and I decided to buy one. They have a highly designed page with many big slogans and such.
Luckily I decided to look around the web for some opinions, and read about the Spartan and some comparisons between the two 1W lasers the companies offer. Many complained about month of waiting, a bad service and often a much shorter lifespan compared to the Spartan, and not only that, even about the safety glasses being useless, what I would not want to find out for myself.
I am very happy to have decided to spend my money here instead. Dragonlasers don't spend much of their time on advertising and gadgets, but what you get instead is exactly what is promised, a well manufactured product. When I saw the light spectrum charts of the safety glasses that also was a big sign to me that here you know what you buy.
The 1W Spartan laser truly is some heavy equipment. Too bad it doesn't come with a focusing lens, but you still perfectly can watch its bright beam even in light as well. The lithium-batteries needed can cost a lot, but nothing unexpected at a power consumption of surely about 6W. I am really satisfied with it, it always is fun to play around with it every while.
One good thing I want to mention at the end is how well it went through customs. Apparently it looks like a flashlight in x-ray or such, because I didn't have any quarrels with it at all. Very pleasant, and even the shipping was unexpectedly fast for that distance.

Great built laser amazing power its rated at 1W but mine outputs 1200mW so amazing value for your money as its make of all metal also is cheaper than the wicked lasers Arctic spyder which only outputs 750mW. This laser will burn almost anything candles, matchs, plastic,rubber and balloons etc. Service is the best as you always get a reply with in 24 hours with helpful information delivery is super quick. I ordered my 55mW Viper Laser at April 4 2010.
It arrived in April 21 2010(17 days)
It can burn through plastic bags in less than a second.
Pops a Purple baloon in 2 seconds.a red at 3-4 seconds,and a orange at 5 seconds.
Stings bare skin
It can burn faim in 1 second and hard plastic in 2-5 seconds.
Beam is like a neon light at night.
The beam is partialy visible in the day time.
The dot reaches over 100 feet in daytime.
I would advise to wear saftey googles or not stare at the dot.
Suprisingly, it does not suck the battery that much.
Great for astronomy.A little too powerful for presentations.

qui faisaient finalement office de pointeur, mais qui n’étaient absolument pas impressionnants à faire fonctionner.
Pour cela j’ai fait des recherches sur internent, et je suis donc tombé sur votre site où j’ai été impressionné
par la puissance des lasers qu’on pouvait y trouver. Le site est clair et très bien fait, notamment par les photos
et les vidéos qu’on peut y voir. J’ai envoyé quelques mails pour avoir diverses précisions et vous m’avez toujours
répondu rapidement et de façon très courtoise. Après quoi, j’ai décidé de commander un laser de la série Viper,
un laser 55 mW donc je suis très satisfait. J’ai été très impressionné par sa puissance d’émission, la lumière est très claire,
d’un vert très intense, le faisceau est bien visible de face mais également de dos, ce qui permet de voir matérialisé dans le ciel la nuit.
C’est impressionnant, vraiment ce laser fonctionne à merveille et j’en suis extrêmement satisfait.

J’envisage prochainement l’achat d’un laser 125 mW pour encore plus de lumière.

Hallo ich möchte mich erstmal bedanken für den Blitzversand es hat nur 10tage vom Tag der Bestellung,bis zu mir nach Hause gedauert,ich musste
auch nichts weiter Bezahlen.Zur Viper möchte ich sagen,das man die Speziallegierung in der Hand fühlt,nach 1min Dauerbertieb erreicht der Laser gerade mal 23° und die Laserstrahl Farbe ist ein Intensives Grün,kann man nicht mit anderen Lasern vergleichen,das liegt am IR-Filter.
Also reines Grünes Licht.Schwarze Luftballons macht er sehr schnell kaputt
und Streichhölzer endzündet die Viper auf 65cm.Dunkle Plastikfolie kann man durchtrennen.Sobalt sie wieder vorrätig ist werde ich mir noch eine Bestellen,vielen

The Viper 55mW laser pointer is very popular here in Costa Rica among nature guides. We use them to more easily point out to our tourist’s animals and birds hidden among the jungle foliage. Always careful not to place the laser dot directly on the animal.
Thorough recommendation from another college who had already purchased three lasers from Dragonlasers (for him and other of my colleges) I purchased one. I was not disappointed!
I,ve seen on the Internet other similar lasers for less money, but I prefer already proven and more reliable gear that I can use regularly.
Over the last few years I ended up buying three more laser pointers, for me and other friends.

This laser is spectacular! I couldn`t be happier. It is by far the best thing i have bought on the internet. It can burn A LOT of things instantly and will always impress any person who sees it. The color is really beautiful and you can see it for miles and miles when it's dark, and for the ones that didn't know: this laser outputs more than 1W and stays, seriously!. When you grab it, you feel POWER in your hands, and I'm sure you will not get disappointed in any way if you buy it. Have you ever feel that you don't have words to describe how awesome is something? Well this is my case! Another thing that I liked a lot, was the service; you get a 100% responses of all your mails and you also get your laser in no more than 2 weeks (In the worst case). Laser has an internal IR filter.
I did a test with external power supply. Laser starts yellow light from 0.9A and 1.95V. At next from 2.2V to 4.2V current stabilized at 1.33A. Thus I think laser diode driver is linear. IR LD power more probably is 1W. Also it works on CW, not pulsed. Beam diameter at aperture is 2mm, at 8m - 7mm.
Housing temperature increased from 20C to 40C approx after 5 minutes from start.

I first purchased a laser module from Dragonlaser due to their very competitive pricing, especially when it comes to blue and violet lasers. I decided to give it a trial for some undemanding applications. The products proved much better than I expected, actually, comparable to the performance of much higher priced modules here. I now have a series of those, from red to violet. Check with specs and inquire about the right product directly from the company if your application is critical to power fluctuations or the beam profile. It is easy to communicate with them - emails are answered immediately and to the point by a person who knows their lasers and capabilities. Very reasonable lead time."

We have purchased the Hulk 150mW laser from Dragon lasers.
Our astronomical Society was looking for a (sufficient) powerful handheld laser beam for public star showing. We owned already such laser beams from other trademarks, but the 5 and 45mW where too weak for sky showing when the night is not 100% dark (parasite lights in town or during dusk or dawn).We had no experience in higher power ranges, and looked for something about 100 mW or more. Dragon lasers power/price ratio was really attractive in the higher power range. Secondly, performances and security devices on Dragon lasers products seamed to offer maximum waranties. And, the last but not the least, once we had purchased by internet, custumer assistance was really 'top' : the customer phoned me imediately after order, and personally from China to France on my cellular phone to warn me about the specific use and special cares about this material, before shipping it. That behaviour is very responsible and we highly appreciate it in France. After that, delivery was very fast and secure.
Field experience : we used the Hulk for sky showing midtown Nantes, in the middle of town lights, and were not desapointed : the laser beam was just of the optimal power, really powerful, ideal to point constellations and stars, and well visible for people, without any danger if the animator take care not to point people faces. The shuter in front of the device avoids such accident, and there are three security devices (two keys to lock the laser) to prevent any misutilisation. At least, the laser is very easy and friendly to use.
The beam is stable and needs only classical batteries.
Unfortunately, pictures and video clips showing laser beams performances on the web do not give good idea of the possibilities in star showing, most of customers using it to play fool and make baloons explode, and that doesn't interest us. Thus, I wanted to publish our experience in order to inform other astronomers and astronomical societies on the interest of this material, which is really worthwhile in star showing for education and public performances.
Other comment : the green laser offers the best power/price ratio ; red and blue lasers are much more expenseive for the same power and are less visible among parasite lights.
In conclusion, the 150 mW Hulk from Dragon lasers is an ideal device for astronomers to show the sky in any circonstances for education and public shows, even among parasite lights or at dawn or dusk. Lower powers are not recommanded, and higher powers are not useful for this practice. We highly recommand it to our astronomers friends."

I was asked to provide feedback on this product soon after I purchased it in May 2010. I don't care for reviews that are based on a fairly short time period of usage. I prefer a longer duration of usage and a straight forward evaluation of the product in question. I purchased the Spartan 100mW green laser after significant research on the web exploring all the available options. I was very hesitant to spend this much money on a product without being able to experience it first hand.
I have used the green laser extensively for the last 5 months for numerous hunting trips, ATV trips (mates thought it was awesome on the 2 AM power line trail adventure, the culmination of a 85 mile day), fishing (and locating a friend's dropped car keys in about 6 feet of water), stargazing, on a family cruise ship vacation and for educational purposes with my two children. I have had no issues with the device and it has performed exceptionally well. It is amazing how bright this laser is. There is no question in your intended "target" when you are trying to communicate that information to another person right next to you or several miles away. From dusk to dawn, this laser is phenomenal. I am very pleased with this purchase and wouldn't hesitate to make it again based on my experiences thus far.
If there were any negatives at all in the transaction, it was a minor one - I was not fully aware that the necessary battery (rechargeable 18650 Li-ion) and charger was not included as part of the original package and upon receiving my laser, I had to make that purchase. This is a high quality unit with tremendous usage potential, the entertainment value alone is worth the purchase! I would not hesitate to recommend this product to friends and family who are in the market for a powerful laser pointing device.

Here is a collection of posts I made on this subject on my facebook page, an honest comparison between the Dragon and Wicked's. For my purposes, I prefer the Dragon:
Blue Lasers, Dragon vs Wicked: I've had the opportunity to play with both. Details to follow, but if you want to put the laser to work, the Dragon is the better choice. It's simple cylindrical exterior is easy to mount, and the butt mounted power button is easily accessible when mounted.
The Dragon comes with nothing, no instructions, nothing to say what batteries it takes, not even the polarity of the batteries when you put them in. I took a $15 chance and bought what I thought were the right ones, but then put them in backwards. It worked after correcting that. First target, a discarded cigarette butt that ignited almost instantly. Cool!
Wicked, when they use the right diode, burns too, but mostly they ship the 400mW version ( IF they ever ship anything at all! ). Dragon has 2 versions, the 400mW and the ~1W. I ordered the ~1W.
Both are DANGEROUS! These are not toys and can easily be used, even accidentally, as weapons. The Wicked's SmartSwitch, while a PITA to use, is like locking up your guns. The Dragon has no such safety feature, take the batteries out and store them separately.
It really looks like the dragon will do what I want. I played with various lenses, several were promising but 1 stands out. It has a *very* short focal length and focuses the beam to a pinpoint, instantly burning wood. By varying the distance slightly, the spot size and therefore the power denisty is easily controlable. I can engrave with this!
It is dangerous, it's not a toy by any means, nor is it a laser pointer. I'll admit I'm playing around with it, but I intend to use it in my jewelry business, it has a few applications there. I bought laser safety glasses too. The biggest danger is to the eyes. I worked with lasers at Burr Brown, got shot in the back of my right hand by a 50W YAG laser when a coworker pulled a practical joke on me.

I recently ordered and received my Dragonlaser Hulk 150mW handheld green laser. I also ordered the safety glasses, the transmission beam fan, and matrix beam fan diffraction gratings.
The reason I bought this was for pest bird dispersal. I have a very tall ash tree in my front yard, and when starlings decided to dwell there and leave dozens of acidic fecal droppings on my vehicles, on a daily basis, I decided to take action. Bird droppings can and will cause damage to a vehicle's paint.
I didn't want to kill the birds, just chase them away.
All it took was a few seconds of green laser light up in the tree to solve my problem. I haven't found any more droppings since my first "treatment". The birds are gone, and haven't returned.
My family was awed when they stood behind me to watch. The matrix beam covers a wide area, while the transmission beam is linear.
Of course, safety is the first priority, so the same safety rules that apply to firearms usage, apply to laser usage. This is not a toy, and must be handled with safety in mind foremost.

My school’s STEM Team (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) purchased three benchtop lasers from DragonLasers to develop a full color laser scanner (laser show). The team at DragonLasers helped me to choose the lasers that would fit our budget and provide sufficient power to create a spectacular show. With their advice, I selected a 100mW 532nm, a 300mW 473nm, and a 500mW 650nm laser, which provides a nearly “white” beam with all three lasers near full power. All three had fast analog power control installed. The lasers arrived quickly, well-packed, and well-documented, and in 4 months of daily use, there have been no problems; these are plug-and-play devices.
The lasers integrated into our show quickly and easily; both the laser head and the power supplies are sturdy and compact allowing the entire show to be housed on a 12”x18” board. As the attached pictures show, the final laser scanner produces wall-filling graphics that are visible in full light. In the dark, the show is spectacular. Independent control of the thee laser powers allows the image to be projected in any color, and we hope to bring this under computer control soon. The photo below was taken at a demonstration of our laser show at the Massachusetts FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Championship. The show was a hit and was an inspiration to many of the participants. I must say that Dragonlaser Rocks! It works exactly according to specs. I purchased the Hulk Laser 125mw about a month ago and it's very powerful,it's like having a
portable laser cutter. It can cut plastics, latex,etc... Being that the laser can be switch on without over heating, It can be used for a beautiful laser show and holograms.
I am getting ready to incorporate it into my robotic arm design for etching and and other science research (I am going to be purchasing another one). The laser safety glasses is a must, do to the fact lasers reflect and can cause eye strain. The safety glasses help reduce this effect a tremendous amount.

Dragon Lasers has a wide choice of small, but powerful lasers of different colors from IR to Blue. They are reliable, price competitive and technical data are trustworthy. I purchased first several lasers(green/IR) 8 mon ago. I checked the power and all data were in spec or a little bit above to what I ordered. Now I am ordering more lasers of higher power. Another nice option is that you can get appropriate protective eye goggle at the same site. Always wear safety goggles when working with lasers(above 10-20mW) otherwise you may damage the retina.

If I had only known about you five years ago. You would have saved me $1300.00 dollars.
I have been using lasers to control over 50,000 winter roosting starlings for five years now. The laser I have been using is a 50mw red laser with a diffuser lens to make the spot bigger. Only one problem, starlings are not night flyers. I needed a laser that could scare the birds in daylight. I now can chase them up 30 minutes earlier.
Ten minutes after sun set they push one last time. The Hulk laser has such a bright beam, I can literally lasso 500 or more birds and herd them away from target. This too cool.
Your customer service was GREAT! The quality build of laser is better than the price by far.
I may be getting another one so I can use both hands to work flock from two directions. It's time for me to expand my bird services to geese and sea gulls.

I've just received the Spartan BP-20 – my first blue laser ever (first time I even see a blue laser not in a video).
I was really surprised by its brightness and power.
It's very bright – much more than I expected, more than a red laser of even higher output. (though less than green which is expected). The beam is clearly visible at night, and it's simply beautiful.
I was able to burn with it using a focusing lens (singe black plastic with smoke, like with green or red laser). Didn't expect that from a 20-30mw average laser, with batteries not fully charged…
I'm very happy with my new laser.

I recently purchased a 125mW Viper which arrived to me in the U.S. within in 6 business days! Very fast, indeed! This being my first time purchasing such a device, I spent a lot of time researching my options. After countless hours reading reviews on every message board I could find it was clear to me that if I was going to invest in a laser I was going to do it right and get everything I want out of it on the first purchase. I've seen many lasers from other companies and it is truly amazing how diverse the output can be between them all.
The Viper 125mw is amazing. The beam is very, very tight yet intensely visible in even slightly dim conditions. This laser will instantly smoke almost any darker colored material, pops balloons, cuts tape, lights matches, ect.ect. Everything you've seen or heard it can do, it will. The build quality it top notch. I use energizer 900ma rechargeable cells in mine and it performs perfectly! I couldn't be happier with my choice.
The sales support at Dragon Lasers has been superb! The original unit I received rapidly developed a problem. The online support people on the Dragon Lasers website helped me try and debug the problem and when it was understood to be a defective unit, they were happy to accept my RMA and quickly delivered a new unit to me. This unit now performs above and beyond my expectations.
