Optogenetics Lasers

Optogenetics, using light to control neurons which have been genetically sensitised to light, is a neuromodulation technique employed in neuroscience that uses a combination of techniques from optics and genetics to control and monitor the activities of individual neurons in living tissue—even within freely-moving animals—and to precisely measure the effects of those manipulations in real-time. It opens up a new research field, promising new hope to suffers of cell diseases.

One of the principal parts during the research is “Light”. It’s supposed to be accurately timed and high intensitive optical pulse to activate light sensitive channels and halorhodopsins, by which it is possible to motivate and inhibit neurons. In order to meet these requirements, we provide lasers with short light time. Since the photoreceptors have different light stabilities, it is available with adjustable amplitude, i.e. analog modulation. And to meet the requirement of more customers, the fiber-coupled modules are alternative.

Recommended Lasers M Series and FN Series visible laser from 400nm to 700nm
